Retired USAF Brigadier General Carl Buhler provides SDVOSB consulting for aerospace, defense & technology focused companies
Buhler Consulting Group, LLC is proud to receive the following endorsements from our clients.
LinkedIn: "Carl and I met at a week-long SBIR conference. After two conversations, it was very clear that he was the type of person I prefer working with. Deep roots of education on the DoD / Air Force / SBIR topics, easy to communicate with, completely Airmen / Warfighter focused, and he has an unwavering desire to get it right...not just get it done. I had secured my Phase I previous to knowing Gen. Buhler. He made it clear that there were no guaranteed results to our Phase II / D2P2 efforts. We are still working toward the goal of having my Phase II funded and I look forward to any chance I get to work with him."
LinkedIn: "Carl has been, without a doubt, our greatest asset in navigating the complex organization that is the DoD. His intimate knowledge, great relationships, and enthusiastic desire to help the USAF's mission keeps him going. We have worked together for a long time now, and the consistency of his message and rigor of his work is unparalleled. I'd recommend him to anyone! We are proud to call him a member of the Pvilion team."
LinkedIn: "I've worked with Carl for over a year and can say he is one of the most diligent and thoughtful people a company can partner with. He somehow gives every company he works with undivided attention and truly roots for you throughout the entire process of a project. He answers every question in a calm and detailed manner, exploring all possible avenues of a situation and offering solutions. Even after a project is complete, he makes sure to provide followup tips and is always passing along relevant news stories. Working with Carl has been an amazing experience and I highly recommend him to anyone looking to level up their DoD offerings!"
LinkedIn: "Transitioning from the Commercial sector to Defense has many challenges for small businesses. We hired Carl to help lead business development and strategy efforts with the Air Force (AFWERX, Security Forces). Carl brought insights, network, access and a tremendous depth of experience that helped our company secure $1M in AFWERX funds that eventually turned into a capability that returned $8M in sales in under 14 months.
His ability to simplify a complex and highly fragmented set of government processes and ability to go above and beyond on a moments notice was a tremendous asset for our business. Finding the right Strategists, Consultants and Experts in Defense can be a tremendous challenge. Save yourself time, money and heartache by making the right decision early."
LinkedIn: "We reached out to Carl to get some help on a recent SBIR Phase 1 application. Since we have had limited experience with SBIR, it was great to connect with someone who has "been there and done that". Carl was able to point out the tiger traps as well as the practical and proven approaches to address the sometimes contradictory instructions. More than his experience, Carl is very easy to work with and extremely responsive to our requests. Whether it was a question, concern, or clarification, Carl was always very fast and comprehensive in his responses. We have received that Phase 1 contract, and I know that Carl's support was instrumental in that outcome."
LinkedIn: "Carl and his team are top-notch professionals. They assisted us in developing a winning strategy, executed, and delivered results. Our teams worked well together, with both sides' strengths and opportunities blending well. Carl was hyper-responsive – even while on vacation – and always ensured he met deadlines. He showed his sincere care and concern for our success in his devotion to learning as much about our business as possible, sharing industry news, and thinking about our blind spots. Great to work with, success-delivering, team building – that's Carl and team!"
LinkedIn: "It is with pleasure that I write this note of reference on behalf of Brig. Gen. Carl Buhler (Ret.). When our company needed a consultant to sherpa us through a particularly complex and daunting DoD SBIR process, we had reached out to several different firms. Carl was introduced to us through a mutual contact who knew what we were working on. Our contact conveyed to me that R3 Printing's need was high-lift and would require specialized support from a professional like Carl. After speaking with Carl and others, we chose to work with Carl because of the clear no-nonsense professionalism with which he comported himself and his ability to convey exactly what was necessary for project success. In our work together, Carl has distinguished himself with rapid execution, a deep understanding of DoD SBIR subject matter, an encyclopedic knowledge of the DoD procurement landscape, and a clear commitment to customer service. He has been highly detail oriented and incredibly direct in communication, making sure that all stakeholders were on the same page and that we as a group knew exactly what was next on the agenda. Carl has been excellent to work with - I recommend him wholeheartedly."
LinkedIn: "Carl was absolutely invaluable to our success in Air Force AFWERX Small Business Innovation and Research (SBIR) effort! I had been largely unable to connect with the AF Maintenance community. Carl provided me top-notch advice on how the community thinks, operates, and feels. Within days, we saw a marked uptick in successful engagements as our list of targeted contacts was honed and our pitch improved to better resonate with potential end users. In the end, our program was a wild success beyond all estimates, all thanks to Carl’s deft guidance."
